I was sent an e-mail from my friend, Robin, in Salt Lake City. It featured a slide show of beautiful pictures with memorable quotations and, given the fact that much of my time for the past couple of weeks was taken up with sermon preparation, I found it compelling that one of the slides showed a hard-working cowboy on horseback in the middle of a herd of cattle, lasso aloft, and the quote read simply,
"The best sermons are lived, not preached."
With apologies to the writer of Ecclesiastes, there are times to blog and times to live.
